José Luis Lugo Hernández, propietario de Panther Publishing en la Ciudad de México, donde se imprimió la edición en negro y blanco de Sonidero City, se ha acumulado una gran colección de volantes del movimiento de los equipos de sonido de disco desde sus comienzos en México en la década de 1980. El estándar visual de los volantes y de los carteles fue creado por Jaime Ruelas, un diseñador gráfico independiente de la Ciudad de México que dibujó muchas de las 300 piezas seleccionadas de la colección que se ofrece aquí.
José Luis Lugo Hernández, owner of Panther Publishing in Mexico City where the black and white edition of Sonidero City was printed, has amassed a sizeable collection of flyers of the disco sound system movement since it’s beginnings in Mexico in the 1980s. The standard for the flyer and poster design of the sound system movement was set by Jaime Ruelas, an independent graphic designer from Mexico City who drew many of the 300 pieces selected from the collection to be featured here.
